Manaslu Region - The Untouched Himalayan Wilderness

The Manaslu region is home to the world's eighth highest peak, Mt Manaslu, at 8163 metres. Not only is the region beautiful in terms of mountains, but it is also unique and well-known for its distinct culture, daily life style, geographical terrain, and status as a limited visiting area for international tourists. In 1998, the Nepali government designated the area as a Manaslu conservation area, which covers an area of 1663 square kilometres. The primary goal of establishing Manaslu conservation is to protect its biodiversity, conserve its environment, and mark the vibrant home of 100 different species of mammals, birds, several types of butterflies, reptiles, and flora and fauna in the region.
The Manaslu region contains six distinct climate zones, ranging from tropical to subtropical, moderate to alpine, and high mountains.

The majority of the Bramin, Chhetri, and Newar communities live in the area around the lower land bank of Bhudighandaki Arughat, although the community also varies by height range. As you go up around Machhkhola,Jagat,  Doban the Tamang and Gurung communities take over. As the day goes on, you will encounter the majority of the Bhote community in the area, which is influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. You will see villages like Namrung, Lho, Samaguan, Samdo, and numerous other settlements along the trail.

Foreigners visit the region for trekking or adventure purposes to explore its uniqueness and climb the summit of the world's eighth highest peak, Mt Manaslu. The region's most popular trips include the Manaslu Circuit Trek Nepal, Tsum Valley Trek  Tsum Valley Larke Pass trek, Larke Peak climbing and the popular autumn season adventure Mt Manaslu Expedition.

Because of the strategic geolocation boundary linkages with Tibet, no foreign country wishing to trek around the region is permitted to travel this territory without receiving a special permit for a specific travel length. To obtain a permit for the region, you must go through a recognized trekking company that is supervised by the Department of Immigration Nepal.
