After a smooth check-in, enjoy a refreshing welcome drink provided by the hotel staff. Take some time to rest and recover from your journey. Later, you’ll be briefed on the details of your upcoming adventure. In the evening, Sherpa Brothers Treks invites you to a traditional Nepali welcome dinner at a local cultural restaurant, where you’ll enjoy authentic cuisine accompanied by live folk music and dance. Overnight stay at hotel with bed and breakfast included.

Today after breakfast your tour guide will take you on a half-day tour of Kathmandu, visiting UNESCO World Heritage sites. Following your exploration of the city's cultural landmarks, you will be met by your trekking guide. Later that day, you will travel to Manthali, which is located in the Ramechhap district (474 m/1,554 ft). Enjoy an overnight stay at a comfortable lodge, including bed and breakfast.

Your journey begins early in the morning your guide will pick you up  and take you to Manthali Airport, where you’ll board a short 20-minute scenic mountain flight to Lukla—gateway to the Everest region. Upon arrival in Lukla, you’ll meet your friendly porters and begin trekking north from the airstrip towards Cheplung (2,700m). Following the trail and carrying on pace, you'll cross the Tharo Kosi River via a traditional suspension bridge. Just beyond the bridge, catch your first glimpse of Kusum Kanguru (6,367m), one of the most challenging trekking peaks in Nepal. The trail then gently ascends past Ghat (2,590m), weaving past painted mani stones and prayer wheels. After a steady hike, you’ll arrive in Phakding, where you will enjoy an overnight stay at a comfortable lodge.

After breakfast in Phakding, you'll follow the west bank of the Dudh Kosi River through the valley. A steep, rocky ascent leads to Benkar (2,710m), passing traditional Sherpa villages and lush forests of fir, magnolia, and rhododendron—most vibrant in spring and autumn. After crossing the Kyashar Khola, you'll arrive in Monjo (2,840m), the gateway to Sagarmatha National Park—officially designated in 1976. After park check-in, the trail descends sharply, crosses a 110-meter suspension bridge to Jorsale (2,830m), and continues with several crossings of the Dudh Kosi. The today journey concludes with a scenic ascent across the famous Hillary Bridge, winding through lush pine forests before arriving at Namche Bazaar (3,420m). Enjoy an overnight stay at a comfortable lodge.

It is important to take time to rest and acclimatize before continuing. The plan for today is a day hike to Syangboche and the Everest View Point (EVP). After breakfast, you will start with a steep one-hour climb to the Syangboche airstrip at 3,790 meters, then gradually ascend past stone steps and chortens towards the viewpoint. From Syangboche, you will follow the eastern trail to EVP, your first major lookout, which offers spectacular panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Thamserku, Taboche, Khumbila, Kangtega, and Ama Dablam. After taking in the scenery, you will return to Namche (3,440m) via the same steep, winding path.Enjoy an overnight stay at a comfortable lodge.

After breakfast, you set out on the trail to Debuche winding through scenic side valleys and rolling hills with gentle rises and falls. Along the way, you pass through Kenjoma, where small tea shops dot the path, offering a perfect spot for a short break. The trail eventually merges with the route from Khumjung near a cluster of mani stones, opening up to breathtaking views of Mount Everest and the elegant Ama Dablam. You will continue through the quiet village of Sanasa before descending through forested slopes to reach Phunki Thanga (3250m), nestled beside a river. From here, the trail begins a steady climb through beautiful forests of blue pine and blooming rhododendrons, passing more mani stones as you make your way to the ridgeline at Tengboche Monastery 3870m. If the weather remains clear until afternoon, the view from here covers Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and other Himalayan peaks. After taking time to explore this spiritual landmark and soak in the dramatic scenery, you descend slightly and continue on to Dibuche, where you’ll spend the night. Enjoy an overnight stay at a comfortable lodge.

After breakfast in Diboche, your journey starts with a gentle walk through forests of birch, pine, and rhododendron, where you will pass by mani walls nestled in the thick woods. You will cross the Imja Khola on a suspension bridge, and then the trail will gradually ascend, revealing intricately carved mani stones as you head towards Pangboche (3,860m), the valley's most ancient village, home to the revered Pangboche Gompa monastery From this point, the landscape opens up into alpine meadows above the tree line, interspersed with tundra and juniper shrubs. After crossing the Khumbu Khola river, you will reach Dingboche, a traditional yak herding village surrounded by stone walls. Enjoy an overnight stay at a comfortable lodge.

The crucial factor for acclimatization at high altitudes is a gradual ascent. Therefore, to support better acclimatization, it's essential to stay an additional night at this elevation. After breakfast, you will trek to a high point of 4700 m, which will provide you with close-up views of Amadablam, Taboche, and Island Peak. This day is anticipated to be an excellent opportunity for acclimatization. If the weather is favorable, you can also enjoy magnificent views of Cholatse, Labouche East, the horse saddle-shaped peak Kangtega, and Thamserku once again. Once you've taken in the breathtaking views, you'll begin your return journey to Dingboche. Enjoy an overnight stay at a comfortable lodge.

After enjoying breakfast, you will take the upper trail leading to Thukla (4,620m / 15,157 ft), where you can admire the views of Lobuche East (6,119m / 20,075 ft) in front of you and the striking north face of Tawache to your left. Following a gradual three-hour hike, you will arrive at Thukla for an early lunch. After lunch, a steady ascent lasting one hour will take you to the Everest Memorial at Thukla Pass, which provides breathtaking views of Ama Dablam, Cholatse, and Tawache. The path then gently meanders along the Khumbu Glacier before reaching Lobuche (4,940m / 16,207 ft), a small village featuring middle of Khumbu and Lobuche glacier with a few tea houses. Enjoy an overnight stay at a comfortable lodge.

After enjoying breakfast, you will proceed to Gorakshep, the final tea house stop on your journey to Everest Base Camp. Upon arrival at Gorakshep, take the time to refuel with a hearty lunch, ensure you drink at least 3 liters of water, and get your gear ready for the last trek to EBC. It is advisable to stick with the lead guide, as the path can be complicated due to shifting glaciers and evolving trails. The hike presents challenges, with thin air and rocky, icy ground to navigate before you reach the base camp. At Everest Base Camp, you will gain a profound respect for the climbers who face the perilous Khumbu Icefall. During the peak expedition seasons, particularly in spring, the camp buzzes with activity, featuring vibrant tents that contrast sharply with the gray surroundings. From this vantage point, you can admire Nuptse, Khumbutse, Pumori, Lola, and the summit of Everest. After taking in the breathtaking views and capturing photographs, you will head back to Gorakshep for a well-deserved night of rest. Enjoy an overnight stay at a comfortable lodge.

After drinking a hot cup of coffee with cookies, you start climbing early in the morning to eyewitness the magnificent sunrise over Mount Everest from Kala Patthar. The departure is cold and dark, with temperatures hovering between -10°C and -14°C, and occasional chilly winds. As daylight breaks, Everest appears between Nuptse and the west shoulder, with other impressive peaks rising to the east. Along the trail to Kala Patthar, there are several scenic locations perfect for short breaks and photography. After a few hours of hiking, you reach the summit, marked by prayer flags and stone cairns, where you enjoy unforgettable panoramic views. You then descend back to Gorak Shep for breakfast. After enjoying breakfast, you'll begin your return journey along the main trail, making your way downhill through Thukla (4,620m) and continuing on to Pheriche (4,200m. Enjoy an overnight stay at a comfortable lodge.

After enjoying breakfast in Pheriche, you will cross the Khumbu Khola and take the lower Everest trail back to Pangboche. You’ll then follow the trail back, making your way uphill to Tyangboche before descending once again toward the Dudh Koshi River. Following this, you will hike uphill for an hour along a picturesque hillside path leading to Namche Bazaar. Enjoy an overnight stay at a comfortable lodge.

Following breakfast, the trail descends sharply, so we proceed slowly and carefully over the rocky path. After crossing the suspension bridges over the swift Dudh Koshi River and its branches, the route levels out and feels more natural. Although we are retracing our steps, the views seem new and different. As we pass through Sherpa villages, you can observe their deep Buddhist faith, prayer stones, and fluttering prayer flags. Upon reaching Lukla for your last night in the Everest region, you take a moment to stretch your tired legs and reflect on the journey. The trek concludes joyfully, with everyone happy, smiling, and filled with lasting memories.Enjoy an overnight stay at a comfortable lodge.

Start your day with an early breakfast before catching a flight to Manthali. From there, enjoy a scenic 5.5-hour drive to Kathmandu (travel time may vary depending on road conditions and traffice jam). Upon arrival, unwind with some free time for relaxation and last-minute shopping in the vibrant streets of Kathmandu. Overnight stay at a deluxe hotel, including bed and breakfast for your convenience.

To ensure a smooth departure, we will pick you up from your hotel and transport you to the international airport. You'll be dropped off 3 hours prior to your flight time, allowing you plenty of time for check-in and security procedures

Trip Notes

➡️ Everest Base Camp Trek – Trail Overview

The Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek is physically demanding trekking adventures in the Himalayas. From beginning  to end, the trail presents a variety of challenging terrains that require you to be physically prepared for long walking days—typically 7 to 8 hours of trekking per day, covering an average distance of 8- 10 kilometers daily.
The Everest base camp trek route includes a mix of gradual ascents, steep climbs, and descents, as well as multiple suspension bridge crossings over glacial rivers. You’ll trek through lush pine and rhododendron forests, open meadows, and rocky and icy sections as you gradually make your way toward Everest Base Camp.

➡️ EBC Trip Preparation

Preparing for the Everest Base Camp trek requires both mental and physical readiness. Regular hiking and walking in the months leading up to your departure is highly recommended to build endurance and improve fitness.
Additionally, it’s very important for participants with any pre-existing medical conditions to inform us at the time of booking. This allows us to make appropriate preparations and ensure that all necessary support is in place, ensuring a safe trekking experience for everyone.
Whether you're an experienced trekker or embarking on your first high-altitude journey, the Everest Base Camp trek offers a chance to challenge yourself, grow, and achieve something truly remarkable.

➡️ Acclimatization During EBC  Trek

As the elevation increases, maintaining a slow and steady pace becomes essential. To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, acclimatization is key. The itinerary includes extra rest days in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche, which not only help your body adjust to the altitude but also give you the chance to explore local Sherpa villages, hike to stunning viewpoints, and immerse yourself in the culture of the Khumbu region.
Spending time at higher elevations helps prevent altitude sickness and reduces the risk of serious health issues during your trek. These rest days are more than just a medical precaution—they enhance your journey by allowing time to enjoy the majestic Himalayan surroundings without rushing.
Throughout the trek, Sherpa Brothers Treks experienced team is committed to your safety, comfort, and well-being. Their support allows you to focus on enjoying the adventure and capturing unforgettable moments as you progress toward your goal.

➡️ Best Time To Do Everest Base Camp Trek

While Nepal can be visited all year, the best times to go walking and trekking to Everest base camp are in the spring (late February – May) and autumn (late September-Mid December).

Autumn; The best time of year to do Everest base camp trek is supposedly in the autumn. With dry weather and crisp, clear skies, the mountain views are at their best. Since the summer monsoon, the countryside has been lush and green.

Spring; As the weather warms up in late February and May wide variety of trekking options become available. The gorgeous magnolia and rhododendron will be in bloom, even though the skies may be cloudier than in the fall. If you want to trek in Everest in the both fall and spring time, you should book well in advance because the popular trails can get crowded during this time and flights fill up fast.

Winter; Generally, winter brings bright, dry days, though the evenings are bitterly cold at altitude and snow can block certain path. Winter can be an excellent time to do Everest base camp trek because there are fewer tourists, even though a high-altitude trek such as Annapurna circuit, Manasalu trek might not be feasible during this season due to snow high passes can be blocked.

➡️ Internal Flights

Flights to Lukla from Ramechhap (Common in Peak Seasons: March–May & October–November)

During peak trekking seasons, most flights to Lukla depart from Manthali Airport in Ramechhap, rather than Kathmandu, due to increased air traffic. According to our EBC trekking plan, you will be transferred from Kathmandu to Ramechhap with your guide—a drive of about 4 to 6 hours. From there, the flight to Lukla takes just 15–20 minutes. Please note that Lukla flights are highly dependent on weather, and delays or cancellations are common due to the region’s mountainous terrain and unpredictable conditions. To minimize disruption to your Everest Base Camp trek, Sherpa Brothers Treks includes an extra day in your itinerary for weather-related contingencies, providing flexibility for your travel plans.

During the off-season, direct flights from Kathmandu to Lukla are available via Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). These flights take 30 to 40 minutes and offer spectacular views of the Himalayas.

➡️ Alternative Options When Lukla Flights Are Cancelled

If your scheduled flight to Lukla is canceled due to poor visibility or unsafe flying conditions, Sherpa Brothers Treks will automatically rebook you on the next available flight once the weather improves. However, during peak trekking seasons, there can be significant backlogs, sometimes resulting in airport waits of a day or more. Occasionally, bad weather may halt Lukla flights for 2–3 days.

If you’re short on time, booking a helicopter to Lukla is a quicker alternative, as helicopters can often operate in conditions that ground planes. Group-sharing helicopter flights are usually available, depending on demand. Alternatively, you can travel overland by jeep to Salleri (about 8–12 hours), then continue by vehicle to Surke (7–8 hours). This route adds approximately two extra trekking days but provides a more flexible and scenic option when flights are disrupted.

➡️ Baggage Allowance & Restrictions

Your journey to Lukla will be aboard a Twin Otter or Dornier aircraft, both twin-engine planes specially designed for Himalayan flights. These aircraft accommodate up to 18 passengers, including crew members, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey to the gateway of Everest.

Each passenger ticket to Lukla includes a strict weight limit of 15 kg (33 lbs) in total. This allowance is divided as follows:
Checked baggage: Maximum 10 kg (22 lbs)
Hand luggage: Maximum 5 kg (11 lbs)

Please note that these limits are strictly enforced due to aircraft safety regulations. The combined weight allowance is generally sufficient for all essentials required on an Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek. We recommend packing efficiently and within these restrictions to avoid additional charges or issues at the airport.

We will provide you duffel bag for your trip gear packing. Your main duffel bag will be carried by the porters. This pack can only hold a maximum weight of 12 kg per trekkers. Extra porters are needed for bags that are overweight or large.

➡️ Required Gears checklist For EBC Trek

March 2025 • Friends We travelled with Sherpa Brothers for an Everest Base Camp trek in March 2025. Furba and the rest of the team could not be more helpful and profession before, during and after the track. Furba personally showed us some of the sites of Kathmandu before we flew to the mountains, including an excellent traditional Nepalese meal. And our Sherpa guide Prabin Magar and porter Mingmar could not be more helpful and very knowledgeable. Before we left we were all anxious of the risk of altitude sickness but the planned route and adjustments Prabin made for our fitness levels worked as all of our group reached base camp with no problem at all. You don't need me to tell you that the trek itself was spectacular - amazing scenery, amazing people, made even more special by the excellent service provided by the Sherpa Brother team. For anyone considering visiting Nepal - don't think twice about getting in contact with the Sherpa Brother. I cannot recommend them enough - excellent trip, life long memories. Highly recommended!!

I did the EBC trek with them followed by a couple of high passes (we only did one because of bad weather). Everything was taken care of beautifully, they chose great places to stay and everything was covered except incidentals like water etc. The guides were real pros, nice guys as well. Arriving in Kathmandu it can be really hard to choose a trekking company - there are so many! You can't go wrong with Sherpa Brothers, highly recommended!

Everest Base Camp and Chitwan Oct 2024 • Friends Me and a friend used Sherpa Brothers for our trip to both Everest Base Camp and Chitwan. As other reviews have said, Furba is extremely easy to communicate with via email and we felt very confident in our trip. Our Sherpa Pemba is an absolute pro on the trek and knew people everywhere he went which made us feel right at home! Everything is organized and easy so you can really focus on the views and the trek itself. As far as I'm concerned there is no other way to do Nepal. Highly recommended.

Oct, 2024 • Friends I chose Sherpa Brothers for my trek to Everest Base Camp. Our group was recommended to Sherpa Brothers by a friend who trekked the Annapurna Circuit with them. The professionalism and knowledge of the region that they exhibited throughout the trek was second to none. Primarily our group dealt with Furba and Pemba. Furba was professional in booking our trek for us and dealt with our many questions promptly via email. They were also very flexible - we decided to delay the tour by one day and asked Furba if this was possible one week before the tour was to start and there were no problems at all! The service delivered by Furba was outstanding. Everything from food to tea house accomodation to domestic flights were taken care of. At the end of the trek, Furba made the effort (even though the tour was over) to book other sightseeing activities in the Kathmandu region for us (white water rafting) and also see us off before our flight back home. Pemba was our tour guide throughout the trek. I felt comfortable and safe with him from the get go. Each of the members in our group dealt with being sick at different times and he was always checking up on us to make sure that we were ok. He even went to the extent of carrying some of our bags along with his own at some points to ease the burden on people who were affected by altitude sickness. Unfortunately, one of our companions on the tour suffered from altitude sickness and had to be helicopter evacuated back to Kathmandu. Pemba organised everything and the helicopter was available within the hour. Pemba was incredibly friendly and knowledgable of the landscape that we were trekking through. I can not praise him enough for how he conducted himself throughout the tour. If I was ever back in the Nepal region I would without a doubt contact Sherpa Brothers again for my trek. I would also recommend to anyone thinking of doing a trek in the Nepal region to get into contact with Sherpa Brothers. I can promise you that the tour will not disappoint and you will get a true insight into the Nepalese culture. Thank you again Sherpa Brothers for this once in a lifetime opportunity! P.s. Can I give more than 5 stars?
