➡️ Explore The Enchanting Langtang Valley

The Langtang Valley trek is an amazing way to immerse yourself in the stunning natural beauty of the Himalayas while also gaining insight into the rich Tamang culture and heritage. Trekking with Sherpa brothers adds a personal touch and a deep connection to the region. Our guide’s knowledge of the area, local customs, and traditions makes the journey even more enriching.
The Langtang Valley Trek is a relatively short yet rewarding trek located to the north of Kathmandu. Known for its stunning Himalayan views, this trek offers trekkers an opportunity to explore the beautiful Langtang region, which is less crowded compared to other classic treks in Nepal.

This trek takes you through Langtang National Park, home to diverse landscapes, wildlife, and rich vegetation, making it a great choice for nature enthusiasts. Along the way, you'll be treated to panoramic views of towering peaks like Langtang Lirung (7,227m), Ganesh Himal, and other surrounding mountains.

One of the highlights of the trek is the chance to experience the unique culture and lifestyle of the Tamang people, the indigenous inhabitants of the Langtang region. Their villages offer a fascinating insight into their traditions, religion, and way of life, adding a cultural dimension to your adventure.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, a representative from Sherpa Brothers Treks will be there to welcome you. You’ll then be transferred to your hotel, where you’ll check in and enjoy a welcome drink at reception. Take some time to rest and settle in.
Later, you’ll receive a detailed briefing about your trek. In the evening, enjoy a complimentary welcome dinner hosted by Sherpa Brothers Treks at a traditional Nepalese cultural restaurant.

After breakfast, your guide will meet you to begin the scenic journey towards Langtang Valley. The drive to Syabrubesi takes you through charming countryside and vibrant hill towns via Gurjubhanjang, Chhahare, and the Trishuli Road.

As you ascend the breathtaking Gurjubhanjang Pass, you’ll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the majestic Langtang mountain range — a perfect preview of the adventure ahead.
Take a refreshing break in Trishuli before continuing the gradual uphill drive to Ramche, where you’ll stop at the Langtang National Park checkpoint. The route then winds through the lush Trishuli valleys and the scenic foothills of Ramche and Dhunche Bazaar, offering picturesque landscapes and cultural glimpses along the way.

Enjoy a delicious lunch in Dhunche, then resume your drive to Syabrubesi, a peaceful mountain village nestled in the heart of the Himalayas. Here, your day’s journey concludes in serene natural beauty, setting the stage for your Langtang trekking adventure.

After breakfast, your Langtang Valley trek begins as you follow a scenic trail alongside the Langtang Khola. The path gently heads through terraced farmland and small traditional settlements, offering an authentic glimpse into rural Himalayan life.

After about 1.5 hours of gradual ascent through a peaceful forest, you'll reach Bamboo Lodge, a peaceful spot to take a short break and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.
The trail becomes steeper as you ascend into dense forests filled with oak trees and colorful rhododendrons (especially vibrant in spring). Along the way, you’ll cross fun suspension bridges, pass cascading waterfalls, and soak in the raw beauty of the Langtang region.

Stop for lunch in  Rimche, then continue along the riverside path to Lama Hotel. As it’s your first day of trekking, some physical fatigue is normal.
Overnight stay at a cozy teahouse in Lama Hotel.

As usual, your day starts with a breakfast before setting off on your journey alongside the Langtang Khola river. The morning walk through the dense forest fills you with energy as you make your way up the trail.

As you ascend, the valley begins to widen, leading you to Gode Tabela. Here, you’ll be welcomed by Buddhist chortens and prayer wheels, reminders of the area’s rich spiritual heritage. It’s important to note that Gode Tabela was significantly affected by the devastating earthquake in 2015.

After enjoying lunch, your trek continues gently uphill toward Langtang Valley. With every turn, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the Langtang mountain range, including the majestic Lirung.
After crossing a suspension bridge, you will arrive at Langtang Valley, an area that experienced severe destruction during the earthquake. While many families have heartbreaking stories to tell, the community of Langtang is now embracing hope and rebuilding their lives.
Culturally, Langtang Valley is influenced by the Tamang people, who share many similarities with Tibetan culture. This valley stands out with its unique traditions, customs, and way of life, making it a truly special place to explore.  O/N in tea house

After breakfast, continue your Langtang Valley trek with a scenic walk toward Kyanjin Gompa, one of the most iconic destinations in the Langtang region. Today’s trail follows the wide, open valley with relatively easier walking conditions compared to previous days. However, as you reach higher altitude, it’s important to maintain a slower, steady pace.

Along the way, enjoy the stunning alpine landscapes, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, glacial streams, and serene meadows. You’ll likely encounter yak herds, the traditional high-altitude cattle of the Himalayas, as well as wildlife native to Langtang National Park, such as blue sheep, Himalayan griffon vultures, and more.

After approximately 3 hours of trekking, you’ll arrive at the picturesque village of Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m), nestled beneath the impressive peak of Kyanjin Ri. This charming village offers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural richness, making it a highlight of your trek.

Kenji Gumba is a charming little town where you can indulge in local delicacies, such as delicious Himalayan yak cheese, alongside modern coffee and freshly baked treats.
Whether you're a seasoned trekker or a nature enthusiast, the journey to Kenji Gumba offers an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Himalayas. O/N in teahouse.

Before breakfast, prepare all your personal belongings for an exciting day ahead. Don’t forget essentials like your camera, water bottle, light snacks, rain jackets, and hats, along with any other necessary gear. Today, you have the option to hike either Kenji Ri (4773m / 15,655 ft) or Tserko Ri (4985m / 16,350 ft).

The journey to the summit is a strenuous uphill climb and will be more challenging than previous days. As you ascend, you’ll be treated to spectacular views of the valley alongside the Himalayan River. The snow-capped peaks will feel closer than ever, and the atmosphere grows quieter, enveloped by the majestic presence of the Langtang Himalaya.

As you approach either summit, prepare to be amazed by a 360-degree view of the Himalayas, including the impressive Shisapangma (8027m) to the north. Reaching the top is a truly rewarding experience that will create memories to last a lifetime.

After enjoying some quality time at the summit, you will begin your descent back to Kenji, which will take about one to one and a half hours. The way down feels much easier after conquering the summit! Upon your return, you can relax and unwind for the afternoon.
Whether you choose Kenji Ri or Tserko Ri, this hike promises to be a highlight of your journey in the Himalayas. O/N in teahouse.

After the breakfast, you’ll retrace your steps along the same trail back to Lama Hotel. With cherished memories from your adventures at Tserko Ri and Kenji Ri, you’ll pass through the beautiful Langtang village, the vibrant Tamang village, and Gode Tabela on your way back.

The descent is relatively easier, as your body has now adjusted to the altitude. Enjoy the stunning views along the way, allowing you to gain a deeper understanding of the region and its breathtaking landscapes. As you make your way back to Lama Hotel, take a moment to appreciate the beauty surrounding you—each step revealing new perspectives of the majestic Langtang Valley. O/N in tea house

After breakfast, your journey continues towards Syprubeshi. You’ll cross a suspension bridge while reminiscing about the charming villages you passed on your way up. As you walk down, you'll again encounter the friendly communities that dot the landscape, each with its unique character.
Upon reaching Syprubeshi, you’ll enjoy the lunch and a refreshing break before making your way back to Kathmndu.

Your adventure continues with a scenic five-hour drive through the mountainous roads, where you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the Himalayas and lush landscapes.
Once you arrive in Kathmandu, you’ll have the evening to relax and reflect on your incredible journey through the Langtang region.

You won't get a better agency than this! April 2025 My mentor recommended me the Sherpa brothers (Furba and Pemba), and I don't think I have ever been happier with a recommendation! The trek to Langtang (we climbed Kenjin Ri II) itself went great, Pemba was responsible, helpful and friendly throughout the 7 days there. What is really extra is that Furba spent a lot of effort to make the other part of our stay in Nepal enjoyable. He took us shopping to specialized stores in Kathmandu on two occasions which resulted in us buying efficiently and effectively in an unknown country. He also arranged a way better hotel than the one we had originally booked for the same price. We trusted the Sherpa brothers very soon after meeting them, hence we decided to also book a two-night tour to Chitwan with them, which also turned out to be extremely well-organized and pleasant. Finally, we learned a ton about the local culture, history and habits from talking to the Sherpa brothers.

Sep 2024 • Friends Not just trekking guides, but excellent tour guides overall. They have great connections and knowledge of the city to set you up with the very best of whatever you may need. Essentially, the Sherpa Brothers are a one stop shop for touring Nepal. The first day we met with Furba we had a long breakfast together and gave us an overview of Kathmandu. He also booked a visit to Chitwan National Park, got us set up with a great hotel in Chitwan and activities for two days. On the day back Furba helped my friend find a place to repair his phone. We had a great 7 day trek up the Langtang valley with Pemba as our guide. His knowledge and experience on the trail made the trek go very smoothly, and him helping us with food an lodging allowed for more relaxed trek. He was also great company to have around and attentive to our needs. Before going on the Trek we had a really bad experience at the blue horizon hotel in Kathmandu ( do not go there ). Furba helped us by holding our stuff while we went on our trek and booking a new hotel for us for when we got back, with the same price, Kathmandu Garden Home, which provided excellent food, services and amenities. On the last day, Furba helped us with gift shopping. His knowledge and connection with shops in the city helped us get the best products and prices. We even had the opportunity to visit a singing bowl factory. I cannot recommend the Sherpa Brothers enough. Me and my friend joked that the best way to visit Nepal is to book a plane ticket, and have the Sherpa Brothers take care of the rest. At this point I don’t consider it a joke, but an actual recommendation for any visitors to Nepal.
