➡️ Best Time To Do Poon Hill or Ghorepani Trek

While Nepal can be visited all year, the best times to go walking and trekking to Poon Hill are in the spring (late February – May) and autumn (late September-Mid December).

Autumn; The best time of year to do Poon Hill trek is supposedly in the autumn. With dry weather and crisp, clear skies, the mountain views are at their best. Since the summer monsoon, the countryside has been lush and green.

Spring; As the weather warms up in late February and May wide variety of trekking options become available. The gorgeous magnolia and rhododendron will be in bloom, even though the skies may be cloudier than in the fall. If you want to trek in Poon Hill in the both fall and spring time, you should book well in advance because the popular trails can get crowded during this time and flight, transport and tea house fill up fast.

Winter; Generally, winter brings bright, dry days, though the evenings are bitterly cold at Ghorepani & early morning at Poon Hill. Winter is a great time for the Poon Hill trek due to clear skies and fewer tourists. Proper warm gear and cloth are essential.

Poon Hill, Annapurna mountains - 4 day trek Mar 2025 • Couples We heard about Sherpa Bros Trek from extended family. Right from the beginning Furba was informative, helpful and overall extremely well-organised. From suggesting which trek was the best for us, how to travel there and what to take with us - to arranging all the itinerary and back up, Furba's help was excellent. We absolutely loved the Poon Hill trek, even on the first day, which was tiring and difficult at times with so many steps to climb! Seeing so much of Nepal's rural life as we climbed and walked, with so many truly stunning views, was an experience we will never forget. The Annapurna mountain range must be one of the most beautiful place in the whole world. Our guide, Prabin, and porter Azuain, were consistently friendly and kind. Prabin was extremely well-organised in booking all the accommodation and food at each of the tea houses. This was combined with his friendliness and cheerfulness, as he seemed to know plenty of people along the way, at each tea house, which in turn made us feel even more at home in Nepal. When I was unwell, both Prabin and Azuain were incredibly patient and understanding, whilst at the same time not allowing me to give up. I will never forget Prabin patiently saying "only a few more steps" as he described the next 2 or 3 kilometres ahead! Right to the very end of our trip Sherpa Bros delivered - Furba always put in the extra bit of effort to make sure everything was well done. He met us back in Kathmandu afterwards, simply to check that we'd had a good time. I would 100% recommend Sherpa Bros Trek to anyone coming out to Nepal looking for a reliable and excellent trekking company. Thank you!
