From there, the flight to Lukla takes just 15–20 minutes. Please note that Lukla flights are highly dependent on weather, and delays or cancellations are common due to the region’s mountainous terrain and unpredictable conditions. To minimize disruption to your Three High Passess trek, Sherpa Brothers Treks includes an extra day in your itinerary for weather-related contingencies, providing flexibility for your travel plans.
During the off-season, direct flights from Kathmandu to Lukla are available via Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). These flights take 30 to 40 minutes and offer spectacular views of the Himalayas.

However, during peak trekking seasons, there can be significant backlogs, sometimes resulting in airport waits of a day or more. Occasionally, bad weather may halt Lukla flights for 2–3 days.
