Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, a representative from Sherpa Brothers Treks will be there to welcome you. You’ll then be transferred to your hotel, where you’ll check in and enjoy a welcome drink at reception. Take some time to rest and settle in.
Later, you’ll receive a detailed briefing about your trek. In the evening, enjoy a complimentary welcome dinner hosted by Sherpa Brothers Treks at a traditional Nepalese cultural restaurant.

Today after breakfast your tour guide will take you on a half-day tour of Kathmandu, visiting UNESCO World Heritage sites. Following your exploration of the city's cultural landmarks, you will be met by your climbing  guide. Later that day,  for a comprehensive climbing gear check and preparation session. This crucial briefing ensures all your technical equipment—from boots and crampons to harnesses and jackets—is properly fitted, giving you complete confidence and peace of mind before heading into the mountains.

After breakfast, your guide will meet you to kick off the scenic drive toward the Langtang region. The journey takes you through vibrant hillside towns, winding roads, and picturesque spots like Trishuli and Dhunche, where you'll pause for a delicious local lunch and pass through the Langtang National Park checkpoint. Along the way, sweeping passes reveal breathtaking early previews of the majestic Langtang mountain range. By afternoon, you'll arrive in the peaceful mountain settlement of Syabrubesi to rest up for the trek ahead.

Your first official day of trekking starts right alongside the rushing waters of the Langtang Khola. The trail meanders gently past terraced fields and small rural settlements, giving you an authentic look at everyday mountain life. After a peaceful ascent through dense forests of oak and vibrant rhododendrons, crossing fun suspension bridges and catching glimpses of cascading waterfalls, you’ll stop for lunch in Rimche. From there, a short riverside walk brings you to the cozy woodland haven of Lama Hotel for a well-deserved overnight stay.

Energized by a morning walk through the shaded forest, you'll follow the river upward as the valley gradually opens up. You will soon reach Gode Tabela, marked by spiritual Buddhist chortens and fluttering prayer wheels. After a lunch break, continue upward while taking in striking views of Langtang Lirung rising above. Arriving in Langtang Village introduces you deeply to the resilient local Tamang community—whose rich traditions, distinct customs, and warm hospitality closely mirror Tibetan culture—making this a deeply moving and culturally vibrant stop.

Today’s trek leads you through wide, open alpine valleys surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks, wandering glacial streams, and peaceful high-altitude meadows. Keep an eye out for grazing yak herds and local wildlife unique to the national park. After a steady, manageable walk, you'll reach the iconic village of Kyanjin Gompa, nestled right beneath the dramatic slopes of Kyanjin Ri. Here, you can spend your afternoon soaking in the stunning mountain scenery and indulging in local delicacies like fresh Himalayan yak cheese, warm coffee, and baked treats.

Leaving the main village behind, the trail transitions into a rugged, rocky glacier trail that leads you steadily up toward Yala Base Camp. As you gain altitude, the surrounding mountain vistas become truly astounding, framing jagged giants like Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, and Yala Peak itself. Upon arriving at base camp, your expert climbing guides will lead a hands-on training session, showing you the ropes on how to safely use technical equipment like ice axes, crampons, and harnesses before you rest for the night amidst the high alpine wilderness.

An early morning start begins your thrilling summit push under the starry alpine sky. The climb is challenging, but the payoff from the top is an unforgettable 360-degree panoramic amphitheater of the mighty Himalayas. You’ll stand eye-to-eye with legendary peaks including Shishapangma (8027m), Dorje Lakpa (6966m), Langtang Lirung (7234m), and many others glistening in the morning light. After celebrating your massive achievement and taking in the breathtaking views, you'll make the descent back down to Yala Base Camp for a restful night.

This vital buffer day is reserved exclusively as a safety net for unpredictable mountain weather, ensuring you have a flexible second chance for a safe summit attempt if conditions on Day 8 require it. If your summit went off without a hitch on schedule, you can use this day to further explore the stunning glacial ridges around base camp or begin your descent at a relaxed, leisurely pace.

With the excitement of the summit behind you, today is a long but rewarding descent back down the valley. Retracing your steps past familiar glaciers, alpine meadows, and friendly mountain villages like Langtang, the walking feels much easier as the air thickens with every lower step. You'll pass back through cascading waterfalls and lush forests, eventually arriving back at the familiar comfort of Lama Hotel for your final night in the mountains.

Your final morning of trekking takes you down the remaining hillside trails alongside the Langtang Khola, crossing familiar suspension bridges and exchanging final greetings with local villagers. Upon reaching Syabrubesi, a lunch awaits before you board your vehicle for the scenic five-hour mountain drive back to Kathmandu. Arriving in the capital, you'll have the evening free to relax, celebrate your incredible mountaineering milestone, and reflect on your Himalayan journey.

Your unforgettable Langtang Valley and Yala Peak adventure concludes today. Depending on your flight schedule,  we  will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your journey home, leaving you with lifelong memories of the high Himalayas, rich culture, and warm hospitality.

➡️ Travel Insurance

Sherpa Brothers Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd. takes every care to make our treks safe and enjoyable. All our routes are carefully checked to ensure safe paths and acceptable facilities. In addition, our team has vast experience at altitude and is trained to handle altitude-related concerns. However, mountain weather and terrain can always present unpredictable elements. To ensure you have a worry-free trip, personal travel insurance is essential. It must cover emergency medical treatment, helicopter evacuation, and rescue operations up to high altitudes, as these costs can otherwise be overwhelming. Please let us know of any pre-existing health conditions when booking so we can ensure your safety and well-being.

➡️ Best Time To Do Yala Peak Climbing In Nepal

The best times of year for Yala Peak climbing are the spring (March to May) and autumn (late September to November).  Autumn: Widely considered the best season, offering dry weather, crisp air, and exceptionally clear skies for mountain views. Landscapes are lush and green right after the monsoon.

Spring: Warmer weather brings vibrant blooming rhododendrons and wildflowers across the lower trails. Because spring and autumn are popular, it is best to book your trip well in advance.
