I did the Chola Pass trek with Sherpa brothers in October 2013. Unusually for this time of year we were met with 3m of snow in the Gokyo valley and as a result were unable to cross the pass. However Pemba and Furba managed to re-arrange our itinerary so we were still able to get to EBC and Kala Pathar – even though we had very limited time. On arrival back in Lukla there were further challenges due to poor weather conditions but somehow the Sherpa Brothers team worked miracles to get us back to KTM to make our international flights. Throughout our trip we were shown the very best Nepali hospitality which helped to make a fantastic trip full of wonderful memories.

What a life time experience!
We have travelled widely but our Sherpa Brothers’ two week adventure October 2013, was beyond expectations.
Because we are 60 and not exactly hardened trekkers, we requested and enjoyed a carefully personalized 2 week tour of Nepal including 4 days low altitude trekking which was both challenging and rewarding in every way.
We had our very own English speaking guides through out to assist in all aspects of the trip. Kindness, patience and motivation were offered while trekking in the amazingly scenic Annapurna region.
Tea house accommodation was comfortable and all meals offered were tasty and nourishing.
In Kathmandu we stayed in the unique courtyard boutique hotel with its unparalled decor and friendly atmosphere, ideal location as a haven amongst the bustle, a
place to come home to regenerate.
All accommodation was chosen to highlight the ambience of the location
whether it be to view the distant mountain peaks of Pokhara, the
sunrises and sunsets over the peaks of Ngarkot or to take in the
tropical vegetation of Chitwan National Park. Throughout we had our
personal guides who professionally and flawlessly accompanied us.
We tasted the culture, village life, local food, the city bustle and
ancient sites, along with elephant rides and showers and jungle walks
and canoes to see crocs and elephants and rhinos in the wild. A
suggestion for future tours might be to include some rafting!
Thank you for the memories and we fully recommend the Sherpa Brothers company as it came fully recommended to us.

Sherpa Brothers were fantastic, very professional and very considerate – from the friendly reception I received at the airport on arrival, all the way through the trek, and during my time in Kathmandu, nothing was too much and they made my trip to Nepal a very memorable experience. This is a wonderful family-run company that allows you to sample some of the Nepali hospitality through a very local experience by staying in some great sherpa-run tea houses on the mountain. My trek was also a very personal experience which I appreciated – being in a really small group meant that I received an excellent level of service and felt really well looked after in the mountains. The guides were really attentive and really know the mountain paths and the local families that run the tea houses. The scenery of the Gokyo Valley was amazing, especially with all the unexpected snow which made it even more beautiful. Thanks Furba, Pemba and Chhiring for an amazing adventure!

Dear Tenji
It is with pleasure that I write an open letter of recommendation for Sherpa Brothers Treks and Expedition Pvt. Ltd, following our fantastic experience in Nepal this October. Having been recommended your company by a previous client, you were friendly, enthusiastic and incredibly professional and organized a successful trek from Lukla to Gokyo Lakes. Despite a backlog of flights, we left on time and returned to Kathmandu 12 days later having enjoyed fantastic hospitality and wonderful views Everest and surrounding Himalaya our guide Furba Sherpa was gentle, considerate host and ensured a seamless journey from lodge to lodge. Mention should also be made of him rescuing a porter suffering from High altitude Pulmonary Oedema above Machhermo, and thus likely saving his life. We wholeheartedly recommend you to future trekkers and count you amongst the many friends that we made in Nepal.

“Sherpa Brothers provided a superb trekking + cultural experience for myself + my 18 year old son – I asked to trek to at a lower altitude – but we still climbed to 4000m;
we were extremely well looked after – the guiding excellent + provided many insight
into Nepal – but particularly in to Sherpa community + Buddhism – including a memorable visit to a monastery. The trek itself took us through a much less traveled part of the Everest region + on most days we saw few other westerner; the cooking needs a mention as it far exceeded our expectations + great care was taken to ensure we did not risk contaminated water – neither of us had any health problem throughout the trip. I would recommend the company without any reservation’’

Trekking in Nepal
October 2005
It has always been a dream of ours to go trekking in the Himalayas. Our experience has been mainly in the Alps so we couldn’t wait to see what we were missing!
Friends of ours from Dhaka (The Grays and The Leaches) had done a similar trekking with their children 6 months earlier and highly recommended Tenji Sherpa from Sherpa Brothers Trekking Company.
We contacted three companies, noting that we wanted to stay away from the tourists and camp in tents for a 4-day trek from Pohkara. We would be two families with 5 children ages 1-8 years old. Tenji’s company was willing to take us on and gave us a fair quote so off we went. He was even able to make the local hotel reservations and store our luggage in Kathmandu that we would not need on the trek. We weren’t sure exactly what to expect.
However, it was a bit of a surprise when we walked straight out of the airport and continued on foot for our 4-day trek in a loop (never seeing any other trekkers) which eventually brought us back to Pohkara.
Our walking experiences among the adults ranged but that made no difference as there was always a member of Tenji’s team up front and someone in back in case of any difficulties.
Two days straight up … and we never seemed to go down. The trekking pace to keep up with the sherpas, wearing only flip flops, was incredible. Many of the children were carried in baskets by porters or walked, holding a porter’s hand as the terrain was quite rough. At first, we tried to keep up, a test or our endurance!
We quickly felt safe to let the children go ahead up the paths with them while we walked a little slower behind. Slipping on rocks or pulling leaches off our boots, there was always a hand to help before we even needed to ask.
From the very beginning, the children were drawn to the friendly sherpas; they would walk holding their hands, play with them at breaks, or take a ride in the basket when they wanted to have to break from the rigorous trails. Even the 4-5 year olds, walked for 2 hour stretches or even ran up stairs at times!
Our youngest trekker at one sat in an infant carrier with a porter carrying an umbrella over his head at all times to shield him from sun and rain. He did get his exercise by running around the camp grounds and in and out of the tent during meals and at the end of the day’s trek.
Mornings we were awakened to tea being brought to our tents and a wash bowl. We would dress for the day, quickly repack and then sit down to a lovely breakfast. A quick break and then we were off again for another day of trekking, ignoring the tight calf muscles and taking in the snow capped mountains and lake views. Though it was definitely difficult on the legs and the mind, it was also an incredible experience refreshing our minds and our spirits. We tackled leeches, slippery rocks, rickety bridges and aching muscles. We felt stronger in spirit and in body, closer to nature and very bonded with our trekking team.
We enjoyed this experience immensely. The kindness of the entire team made this a powerful experience and a memorable October break for all of us! He was very flexible with us on dates and our children’s needs. He can arrange longor short trips.
We will certainly be going back again!

On a recent trip to Nepal, three friends and I trekked to Everest Base camp via the Gokyo valley with Sherpa Brothers Treks. We were particularly keen to travel with a local company, and they were very professional company and looked after us very well. The staff, especially Furba Sherpa, who was the guide on our trek, was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helped us a lot. All equipment provided was of good quality, and helped with the enjoyable experience. I would recommend this company as excellent trekking guide to anyone considering traveling to Nepal.

I just returned home from an 18 day trek from Jiri to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar. Sherpa Brothers Treks provided my Guide, Niema. During the entire duration of the trek they displayed the utmost professionalism, made me feel comfortable and safe. Having a guide allowed me to enjoy the beautiful landscape and helped me with the true understanding of the country. I can not say or thank them enough for all that they did for me.

“Furba and Sherpa Brothers made Annapurna an even more amazing experience than the mountains could alone. They were flexible, knowledgeable and went to every length to look after us. An incredible holiday we will never forget. Thank you!”
